Wild and Soft is a company that specialises in creating the most fun children’s room accessories. They asked me if I could design a T-rex head for them to add to their collection of animal heads. I had to make sure that the T-rex didn’t look too scary so as not to frighten the children. This was my first time designing an animal head and an actual product.
After going through references and discussing what my client wanted I drew out a rough sketch of a T-rex. The client and I went over what needed adjusting and eventually came to a design that the client agreed on. Once approved I continued by drawing a front view and then colouring the sketch.
The finalised design was sent off to the factory to be produced. Two prototypes were produced based on the sketch and the best one was mass-produced in time for the autumn 2020 release. From the T-rex head a T-rex cape was also produced.
